The Capital City, Male, is quite unique. It's clean and tidy,
with mosques, markets, a maze of small streets and a certain charm all
its own. The relaxed pace of island life demands an informal dress code,
however, when visiting Male' and other inhabited islands, visitors
should bear in mind that, in this Islamic society, some modesty and
decorum is appreciated. Remember to remove footwear when entering
mosques.

The untouched white beaches of Maldivian islands
are perfect for
relaxation and healthy tan under the sun. Crowned by majestic coconut
palms which characterise the Maldives, the rings of tropical vegetation
adapting to a variety of environments, salt-resistant and hardy
varieties closer to the beach and more delicate and dense greenery
towards the center.
